Course Description

Microsoft Certified Professional

This program will provide new opportunities for student professionals in the modern world of computers and networks. Students learn how to troubleshoot and repair various hardware, software, and configuration problems.
Students also learn how to install basic computer components as well as to install and configure software ranging from operation systems to applications. Students learn how to design, install and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and 
Wide Area Networks (WAN).

MTA Security Fundamentals

This course will also prepare students for the MTA Security Fundamentals and the CompTIA Security+ IT industry certification exams.  These exams measure the security knowledge mastery of an individual and networking experience. This course will provide students with information on network security including industry wide topics on communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, external attack and operational and organization security. 

A+ Computer Maintenance

This course prepares students to pass the IC3, IT Strata, MTA Windows OS Fundamentals, and CompTIA A+   certification exams. Students learn how to troubleshoot and repair various hardware, software, and configuration problems. Students also learn how to install basic computer components as well as to install and configure software ranging from operating systems to applications. 

Network Fundamentals 

This course prepares students to pass the MTA Networking Fundamentals and CompTIA Network+ certification exams. Physical connections as well as logical connections are presented. Concepts such as bandwidth, access time, data rate, and error detection and correction, as well as other appropriate topics are covered. Participation in the SkillsUSA youth organization will be an integral part of this course. Cisco CCNA is covered in the second year.

Microsoft Server Administration

This course prepares students to pass the MTA Windows Server Administration Fundamentals certification exam. Server InstallationServer RolesActive Directory, StorageServer Performance Management and Server Maintenance will be covered.
